Great for barbeques, bonfire night, picnics and lunch boxes. Great fun for kids to do. This versatile recipe was kindly submitted by our home baker Mrs. Beverstock of Pontypool.

Premium White Bread Mix

  • 500g Wright's Premium White Bread Mix
  • 50g Butter
  • 1 Size 4 Egg
  • 250ml Water
  • 16/20 Frankfurter Sausages
  • 1 Egg for egg wash

 

 

MAKING BY HAND 

 

  1. Make up dough using given ingredients, develop well.
  2. Divide into 16/20 pieces, cover and rest for 10 minutes. 
  3. Roll each dough ball out to a 25cm string and roll round each frankfurter.
  4. Place on a greased baking tray.
  5. Cover with clean, damp tea-towel and prove in a warm place for 30-40 minutes. 
  6. Egg wash and bake in a preheated oven at 220°C, 425°F, Gas Mark 7 for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
