The hit CBBC spin-off is looking for ambitious 9-12 year old bakers to star in its fourth series  Good news for anyone whose kids are "crazy about cakes, potty about pies or simply bonkers about baking bread”.

Applications to compete on Junior Bake Off are now open with the CBBC show looking for ambitious 9-12 year old bakers to star in its next series. 

Filming for the Great British Bake Off spin-off is expected to take place between 23rd July and 21st August, with competitors spending up to six days filming.

The application adds that children who want to appear on the show must "be able to bake several different types of food' and "be prepared to take some constructive feedback"Hosted by children's presenters Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes, the show will also feature top chefs Allegra McEvedy and Graham Hornigold as judges.  The show is regularly one of CBBC's most watched programmes, with the second series' finale reaching almost half a million viewers.

Last year's winner was 11-year-old Amari from Birmingham, who impressed judges with a two-tier waterfall cake.
