Its #NationalBundtDay and a Bundt cake can be any cake that is baked in a Bundt pan, forming it into a distinctive ring shape. The shape of the Bundt pan was originally inspired by the traditional European fruit cake known as Gugelhupf. It was in the 1950s and 1960s that the style became more popular after the manufacturer Nordic Ware trademarked the name “Bundt”.
During the early 1960’s sales were so slow that Nordic Ware considered discontinuing it. Then in a 1963 Good Housekeeping Cookbook, the Bundt pan was featured and sales increased. More recently, it was marvellously mentioned in My Big Fat Greek Wedding which gave its fame a real boost! Edith's beautiful Chocolate Fudge Christmas Bundt!Jackie's decadently decorated Chocolate Fudge Bundt Li made these gorgeous individual Bundt's with our Ginger Cake Mix – confirming “Oohhhh my house smells of ginger. nom.nom.nom” I take it that is not a complaint?! Richard made this awesome Bundt with our Orange Cake Mix, butter cream and slices of Chocolate Orange!

One of my all time favourite Bundt's was Kevin's Whiskey & Ginger Bundtlettes featured above made with our Ginger Cake Mix and another of Kevin's Caramelised White Chocolate & Carrot Bundt Cake, made with our Carrot cake mix below!

Jo tried our recipe for Parsnip Passion Cake and "found it unusually delicious with a different taste to the normal carrot cake”. Jo made this in the normal Bundt 20cm sized tin, as our recipe is for little individual ones. This is thoroughly festive though – nice one Jo!For heavens cake!! Jackie tried our Orange Cake Mix in a Bundt tin (9”/22cm) and when cooled, sprinkled it with some grated chocolate orange! And this amazing Bundt, again from Sammie made with our Chocolate Fudge Mix. The topping is simply melted milk chocolate and bronze crunch sprinkles from Waitrose. I have to include a few our own recipes in with this Hall of Fame! Especially our Mulled Wine Bundt Ring - a great idea for New Year and made with our Madeira Cake Mix.
