Available in Asda, Booths, Morrison's, larger Sainsbury's & Wright's on line - this mix requires only the addition of oil and water. The mix works brilliantly with bread making machines as well as in a 2lb loaf tin in your domestic oven at home or create 12 muffins, 24 cupcakes, bake in an 8" round tin or as a tray bake.

WILL YOU BE ENTERING THE CAKE & BAKE SHOW’S COMPETITION THIS YEAR?

The Cake & Bake Show is calling on professional, semi-professional and amateur bakers to enter their own interpretation of children’s stories. Entrants can choose anything from a character in a children’s book to nostalgic movie scene or a combination of all your favourites from over the years! Whether big or small, cupcakes to 3 tiered extravaganzas, the design will be totally up to the decorator as long as it adheres to the theme! Awards will be given for - display and taste and display only.

Entries will be judged by an esteemed panel of experts inclusive of Gurgle magazine for the junior category. The Edinburgh competition will be judged and awarded by the Scottish Baking Awards as well as the Cake & Bake team.

So tell a children’s story in cake! This baking competition will take place at all 4 of the forthcoming Cake & Bake Shows in Harrogate, London, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Entries are invited in the following categories:

Professional: Someone who has been professionally trained or runs a cake business.

Semi-Professional: Someone who makes cakes on a semi-professional basis e.g. for friends or family

Amateur: Must not have been employed or engaged in any way with a bakery or cupcake business e.g. for home bakers and those looking to develop their baking hobby.

Junior: – There are three categories within this group for young bakers of these ages: Under 6, 7-12 and 13-18.

There will be Celebrity Judges presiding over the competitions at each venue, including: Master Pâtissier Eric Lanlard, TV chef Rosemary Shrager and Great British Bake Off champion, John Whaite.

There are no height restrictions on the cakes. Awards will be given for display and taste, or display only. Cakes may be covered in any suitable edible material and sugar sprays may include wires, tape, ribbon and stamen.

Entry is simple: ideas and a sketch or photograph should be uploaded to the Cake & Bake Show website:  www.thecakeandbakeshow.co.uk and the deadlines are as follows:

HARROGATE, Harrogate International: 19-21 JUNE  Online entry submissions deadline is 1st May. Shortlisted entries will be announced on 7th May.

LONDON, Excel Centre: 2-4 OCTOBER  Online entry submissions deadline is 18th August. Shortlisted entries will be announced on 1st September.

MANCHESTER, Event City: 16-18 OCTOBER  Online entry submissions deadline is 18th August. Shortlisted entries will be announced on 1st September.

EDINBURGH, The RHC: 30 OCT – 1 NOVEMBER  Online entry submissions deadline is 18th August. Shortlisted entries will be announced on 1st September. Entrants will be judged by the Scottish Baking Awards.

You, as an entrant must choose the Cake & Bake Show venue you wish to submit your entry to.

Shortlisted cakes will be on display throughout the event.

Shortlisted entrants will be given 2 x Exhibitor Passes for the 3 day event.
