Member Karen Mitchell uses Wright's Carrot Cake for her Bronze Awarded Cake

10 November 2014

This time last week I heard from Karen Mitchell full of excitement about being in a competition within Cake International creating a cake dog.  Karen made a marvellous little minion out of our Chocolate Fudge cake mix a while ago which I immediately popped on our Facebook page – she then asked how she could receive our newsletters and I explained that we already send them to her.  When Karen searched her spam filters she found our newsletter featuring her minion and we were both delighted.  So, Karen is in the competition and has never entered one before, she is worrying about being “up against the world's best cake artists right?? So I thought you would like to know my piece is made from your Carrot cake mix. I chose this because of its firm texture for calving and wondered if you want a sneaky peek how it’s looking so far?? Please bear in mind it’s not finished yet”.

Well we could not believe our eyes at the first stage, the second, third or finished article pictured below from our Carrot cake mix.

Suddenly the little dog was named Doris and had completely come to life!

We congratulated Karen hugely on her amazing cake at every stage and she kindly said “If it wasn’t for your amazing mixes I couldn't create what I do”. By early Saturday morning I nervously wished her luck and by Saturday afternoon I received a message back from her saying, “Doris got BRONZE  ... I DIDN'T EXPECT ANYTHING WITH IT BEING MY FIRST EVER COMPETITION!”  Karen we are “Wright” delighted for you and thank you for letting us share Doris!  Deb the Bread
