Wright's Recipe Ideas - made mainly by you!

10 September 2014

My dear friend JJ has been busy, following her cute Carrot cakes that were consumed by her Art Class (showed last month) and put these generously decorated Chocolate Fudge muffins up for us to enjoy!  Thanks JJ x

Thanks to Marie Jones for this "Ginger tray bake using Wrights Ginger cake mix. My Mother-in-law said it was the best ever!" - I wouldn't argue with my Mother-in-Law either Marie!

Eve Watkins, thanks "just used your Chocolate Fudge cake mix to make glace morello cherry and flaked almond Chocolate Fudge cake - YUM" - indeed !!!

Pam Regan's trio here is as follows "Tomato and herb bread (using the wholemeal bread mix), ginger and pear cake (using the ginger cake mix) and carrot cake with banana, dates and walnuts (using the carrot cake mix). They were yummy. Thanks Wright's, for the website, with all the recipes... Made a change to bake cakes, that you can have as a pudding with cream and or ice cream".  They all look delicious - thanks again Pam.

Exquisite Bakes of Ashbourne, Derby tweeted us @Wrightsbaking and I can't believe this, "My first attempt at a 3 tier cake".  It looks so "exquisite" I thought they had been producing 3 tier cakes for years - so, 3 tiers, hip hip hooray!

Mmmmmm Mo Smith made these awesome "Oreo cupcakes for my grandkid’s". With Wright's Madeira mix.

Mo then went on to produce this fabulously frilly Frozen cake!

Margaret McGechie created these sexy looking cupcakes!  "Some of the Madeira cupcakes made this morning for a girlie night".  Fabulous Margaret - any night!

@TheCakeVille tweeted us @Wrightsbaking to show us their birthday cake and matching cupcakes in terracotta pots – how delightful!  Thanks so much.

By her own self admission, Judith Gunner said, "A bit late but my take on a Simnel Cake using your Carrot cake mix! Scrumptious !! Many thanks for the inspirational ideas!". You are so welcome Judith.

This is the lovely cake that Nichola Kirkham made for her son's birthday. Mrs. Kirkham said that "The cake was absolutely gorgeous. Your cake mixes are fantastic and we even had a fight on who was licking the spoon!".

And then another one arrived with Lemon Buttericing and Buttons on top of our Madeira mix!  Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful bakes

Just a little taster (well we would if we could) of Jackie's Madeira cake all finished with swirls - to accompany this beauty she has 100 matching cupcakes to finish too - a whoosh of wow factor here Jackie!

Margaret has made “some animal cupcakes using toffee cake mix with caramel butter cream for my grandsons 1st birthday”. I was squealing like a little piggy with delight as soon as I saw these Margaret – thanks so much! We have lambs with mini marsh mellows on top of our Toffee cake mix, cute puppy dogs with chocolate chips & buttons and piggy’s with chocolate chips and pink marsh mellows cut in half for the ears, with a larger one for the nose. Delightfully delicious!

I have a "Wright" selection from Edith, below - thanks as always!  The perfect pizza - or is it?  A cleverly decorated cake with a Madeira base made to look like pizza especially with the menu undoubtedly "borrowed" from her local pizzeria!

To commemorate the start of the new Dr Who series with Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor – Edith gave me this great image of her cake. No surprise if you enter this Tardis you will find Madeira in the middle!

I am enjoying the Slow cooked wonders :) facebook page - there are lots of delicious recipes in their files and daily posts of people posting cakes and breads cooked in their Slow Cookers. Loved Edith's Crock-pot Cake here!

A lovely ensemble of cakes from our brilliant receptionist here at the mill - also a Deb!  "We have Toffee/popcorn cupcakes, raspberry cupcakes and chocolate gateaux... All made using Wrights Mixes!"  Well done Deb - you are a brilliant baker and I am sure all the family adored them!

Finally, because of The Great British Bake Off, I can't get my mind off this fabulously filled Ciabatta (the challenge of week 3).  Recipe here if you want to have a go - you know you want to!
