Wright's plain flour is packed in 5 x 1.5kg cases and is a is of a confectioner’s quality. The wheat used to create the flour is British, grown and milled. This is a big tick in our carbon footprint box, as the wheat is transported in less than 8 miles to our North London mill.

Wright’s Simnel Cake will do the job nicely. One explanation of the origin of Simnel cake is that a man called Simon and his wife Nell could not agree as to whether the 'plum pudding' should be boiled or baked so the cake was first boiled and then baked producing the Simnel.

In the late 17th century, girls in service brought a rich fruit cake called Simnel cake home to their mothers on the fourth Sunday of Lent. The cake was enriched with marzipan and decorated with 11 marzipan balls representing the 12 apostles minus Judas, who betrayed Christ.
